Why we built Rakooni
Rakooni started with a simple frustration: finding things for kids to do locally was way harder than it should be.
Information was scattered across business websites, social media, flyers, community groups, and word of mouth. As parents ourselves, we knew there had to be an easier way.
We wanted one place where a parent could search by what their child wants to do, their age, and where they live — without spending hours digging.
So we decided to build the resource we wished already existed.
From one parent to another
Rakooni wasn't created in a boardroom. It started at home, from the everyday experience of raising kids and constantly trying to figure out what was available nearby.
Classes. Sports. Camps. Events. Something fun this weekend. Something new they might fall in love with.
The opportunities were already out there — they were just surprisingly hard to find.

Parents can explore activities, classes, camps, events, and other local opportunities, then connect directly with the businesses and organizations offering them.
Businesses can claim their listings, keep their information current, showcase their programs and events, and make it easier for the right families to discover what they offer.
Rakooni doesn't replace local businesses — it helps families discover them.

But the vision is bigger.
Our goal is to make discovering local opportunities for kids easier in communities everywhere — while giving the businesses, instructors, and organizations creating those experiences a better way to be found.
